The Rosary Society has been part of the St. Paul the Apostle Parish since Edmund F. Gibbons, Bishop of Albany appointed Rev. William C. Keane, on June 16, 1922 to found a new parish in Woodlawn, Schenectady, New York. The Rosary Society has been a viable ministry in assisting the Pastor in religious and social functions when called upon within our Parish, our core parishes and within our Schenectady community. The only income of the Society is the membership dues.
Rosarians are well known for our community spirit. We are represented by members working at the Soup Kitchen at the Salvation Army, as well as providing monthly financial assistance there. On the first Sunday in May, all Rosarians gather in procession to offer honor and homage and to Crown our Blessed Lady, as well as to give honor to the Orchid Lady of the Year. In addition to the picnic in May, two other outstanding social functions enjoyed by all are the annual Christmas Party and the Installation Dinner in June. Each woman (and young lady 15 or older) in our Parish is invited to become a member of the Rosary Society. We meet the third Saturday of the month, September through May, from 2:30 to 3:30 PM in the Rev. George W. Brucker Parish Center. We pray that Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary and her beloved Son, Jesus, bestow bountiful blessings on all in our Parish Community. For more information, contact Judy DesChamps at 518-428-6913. Join us at our next meeting:
Saturday, October 14* at 2:30 PM Rev. George W. Brucker Parish Center *moved to the second Saturday due to the Eucharistic Conference on October 21. |
