As a spiritual ministry, each prayer team's primary task is to make God's love real to the supplicant so that he or she can experience Jesus meeting his/her needs. The Lord is asked to be present in each situation and each situation is prayerfully opened to His healing touch.
Due to the sensitive nature of the information shared by the supplicants, members of the Healing Ministry must maintain confidentiality. However supplicants (themselves) often share praise reports of how God has touched them and met their needs through this ministry. This ministry can be successful even in the absence of cures or miracles. The group focuses more on enabling people to grow into God's wholeness. Whenever people are brought into an experience of God's loving presences, this ministry succeeds, regardless of other outcomes.
Members of this ministry serve for one year and have an opportunity to re-commit yearly. There are six prayer teams with up to four parishioners on each team. Other parishioners pray as intercessors. Each month from September through June, the Healing Ministry members gather for an evening of prayer, reflection, support and training. Members are commissioned by and under the jurisdiction of the ecclesiastical authority of our Pastor, Rev. Peter Pagones.
The contact persons for this ministry are the co-chairpersons: Stephanie Bryniarski (355-8412) and Flora Stella (878-5722). Anyone interested in joining this ministry are asked to agree to serve on the Intercessory Prayer Team for one year. Additionally, all members of the Healing Ministry must be registered members of St. Paul the Apostle Church.
