Ministers of Holy Communion are men and women who bring to life their love of the Lord present in the Eucharist and in God's people. These men and women help to distribute communion at weekend Masses and some bring communion to those members of our Parish who cannot attend Mass because of illness or age. The call to serve the Body of Christ (His people) has been placed in their hearts and therefore through great prayer, they have stepped out in faith to serve their Christian brothers and sisters. Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion must have received the Sacrament of Confirmation and be a member of the Parish for at least one year. There are two teams of nine to eleven ministers at each Mass.
Ministers of Holy Communion are commissioned each year on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. In 2019 that will be the weekend of June 22-23.
Anyone interested in becoming an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion should contact Cheryl Aini at 518-355-8463.
